Lake Island Light Cannot Be Hidden

If we choose to live as Christ, it is impossible to hide the light that radiates from us. In the mid 90’s my brother and I took one of many trips to Lake Cherokee with our Grandparents. Some of my best memories as a child, are those fishing trips with Papaw and Mamaw Shepherd. On one occasion, my brother decided that he would like for us to camp on one of the lake’s small islands. It was an interesting night to say the least. We decided to build a fire. Being on a small island, surrounded by darkness, the glowing of the fire was undeniable. (Especially since a small propane canister accidently found its way into the fire!) It was impossible for a boat passing by through the night, to not see that luminous light. Such is the light of one who walks as Christ walked; it is brilliant and irrefutable. Not because we are necessarily special within ourselves, but because of the one that we are representing. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. “Matthew 5:14-16
