“There Is A GOD In Heaven Who Can”

None of the Babylonian wise men were able to fulfill the kings request to tell and interpret his dream. To do such required the help of a divine source. Daniel turned to GOD knowing that He was the only true source able to provide an accurate answer to the king’s request. “The secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So, Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” (Daniel 2:19)

After praising and thanking GOD, Daniel finds Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had been placed in charge of executing the wise men of Babylon. Daniel said to Arioch, “Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; take me before the king, and I will tell the king the interpretation.” (Daniel 2:24)

Arioch informs the king, “I have found a man of the captives of Judah, who will make known to the king the interpretation.” (Daniel 2:25)

The king asked Daniel, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?” (Daniel 2:26)

Rather than allowing himself to be motivated by pride, Daniel was very careful to not accept any praise or credit. “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, astrologers, magicians, and soothsayers cannot declare to the king.” (Daniel 2:27)Included among those who within themselves had no power to answer the kings request, was Daniel and his companions. No man of the flesh is able, “But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.” (Daniel 2:28)

No man of the flesh is able, but the LORD GOD of Heaven and earth, He is, and He has revealed to the king what will be in the latter days.

“…He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be. But as for me, this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.” (Daniel 2:29-30)

When given the opportunity to be prideful and take credit, Daniel quickly shined the light on GOD. Any answer that one may give regarding divine matters, if it is true, praise and glory belongs to GOD, not man. Always shine the light on GOD.

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His and He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Daniel 2:20-22)
