“Do not add an extra window to your ark.”

When choosing to employ liberties in obeying a command of GOD, be sure to not add an extra window to your ark.

Within His word, GOD has set boundaries. To go beyond those lines is to transgress the law of GOD. The Bible calls this sin.

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” (1st John 3:4)

While the command itself may be very direct, within the lines that He has drawn, we have permissible choices necessary to perform the duty given. However, any choice employed to complete that command, must not exceed the borders that He has set.
Consider Noah and his building of the ark.

GOD said to Noah, “Make thee an ark of gopher wood…” (Genesis 6:14) In the verses that follow, specific instructions are given regarding the dimensions of the ark, the material to be used, the number of windows and animals among other things. Those were explicit instructions that were non-negotiable. Noah was not permitted to choose another type of wood. He could not choose to make the ark larger or smaller. He could not choose to add an additional window. He could not choose to leave certain animals behind out of preference. Any of the afore mentioned choices would result in going beyond the lines that GOD had drawn.
Regarding the means permissible in accomplishing the specific commands, Noah had certain liberties. He was free to select certain tools for constructing the ark. He had the choice of using various means for transporting the specified wood. He may employ his sons as coworkers. These were approved to complete the specific task that GOD had given him, all the while staying within the set boundaries. “Thus, Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.” Genesis 6:22

When choosing to employ liberties in obeying a command of GOD, be sure to stay within the boundaries and not add an extra window to your ark.
