Live, Love and Serve

Within the body, GOD’S purpose is that we be a family involved in one another’s lives. Our purpose is to help one another get to heaven. There are several one another scriptures directed to Christians regarding our relationship.

“Live in harmony with one another…” (Romans 12:16)

“…Love one another…” (Romans 13:8)

“…Serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13)

“…Be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2)

“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” (Ephesians 5:21)

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

Live, Love, Serve, Be Patient, Submit to, Bear ye….

All of these are given to us as it pertains to one another. Understanding what this means and what our responsibility is, is vitally important if the local church of which we are a part is to be successful and operate as a family.

One of the obstacles that we sometimes find in our way is discouragement. That discouragement may manifest itself in different ways and there may be various things behind discouragement.

“…let us not be weary in well doing for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:9

Do not grow weary, become weak or faint hearted in doing good, wholesome, virtuous things. Do not be discouraged. We shall reap if we faint not. Therefore, as we have opportunity let us do good unto all men, but especially unto them that are of the household of faith.

Paul encourages us to do good to all, but chiefly, (in the greatest degree) or particularly to our relatives in the faith.

Growing weary in well doing, becoming weak or fainthearted is a real danger for the Christian. The admonition is to not let that happen. We desperately need one another, and GOD knew that. Let us do good unto all, especially them who are of the household of faith.

“Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another…” Romans 12:10
