This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but the following are things that we need to know about and accept if we are to be successful as we navigate our way through this life.
In Ephesians 6:11 Paul instructed the Ephesians, “put on the whole armor of GOD to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” The verses that follow give instructions regarding that armor; what it looks like, what it is for and what it does. Satan is a roaring lion walking about seeking whom he may devour. We need to know who the enemy is and how to be prepared.
The apostle John speaks of walking in the light as He (Jesus) is in the light. This results in fellowship with the “Father”. 1st John 1:5-7. We need to know that a walk pleasing to GOD means walking in the light as Christ Jesus is in the light. This walk is expected and essential.
Regarding GOD, His people, and His enemies, Jesus taught that disciples are expected and required to extend love.
“Thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart soul and mind and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)
“Love your enemies…” (Matthew 5:44)
Jesus told His disciples “…everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35)
Put on the armor GOD gives you, walk in the light and extend love.
