Pontius Pilate asked the question, “What shall I do then with Jesus which is called the Christ?” Matthew 27:22
Jesus of Nazareth cannot be ignored; everyone must do something with Him. We may reject Him, ridicule Him, accept Him or conjure up our own idea of who He is, nevertheless, we must do something with this man from Nazareth. No other historical figure impacted the world like Jesus. The fact that we are still talking about him 2000 years after He walked on the earth is a testament to the impression He left. At the very least, He was a man born in the 1st century, who turned the world upside down. His teaching and His actions were different. Those who opposed Him could not deny that notable miracles were being performed in their presence. His enemies noted something different about His teaching. However, His death and the event that took place three days later, had many asking the question, where is Jesus of Nazareth?
When Jesus asked His disciples who do men say that I, the son of man am? Peter answered, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living GOD.” Matthew 16:16
When certain individuals brought spices to the tomb of Jesus and did not find His body, they were asked the question, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” (Where was Jesus of Nazareth?) The men whose clothes were shining answered, “He is not here, but is risen…” Luke 24:1-7
Who is Jesus of Nazareth? He is the Christ, the Son of the living GOD.
Where is Jesus of Nazareth? He is risen!
What will we do with the risen, living, Christ?
