Fear and Assurance

Assurance for the child of GOD is essential to live in peace and joy. Living in fear can be a great help or hindrance depending on our perspective. If, by living in fear, we mean, we live based on our reverence for GOD, that is certainly beneficial. However, if we are influenced by fearfulness in the sense of timidity because we are frightened, it can take away our peace in this life and if we are not careful, perhaps rob us of the peace and joy that is available to us in eternity. If we live in fear as if we are standing on the edge of a cliff, one slip away from the fires of hell, it is very likely that we will be overcome with sorrow. That feeling of inadequacy may reach such a level that we give up, painting an inaccurate picture of Jesus that portrays the impossibility of anyone making it to heaven. The Gospel is defined as GOOD NEWS, but the latter of the two perspectives on fear does not sound like good news at all. It sounds like a message of hopelessness and despair. Nevertheless, the Gospel of Christ, is good news. It is the power of GOD unto salvation. Romans 1:16

Our value to GOD is so great, that He gave His only begotten Son that we might live eternally. That truth provides me with peace and joy. Romans 5:5-8, John 3:16.
