Christ Is A Better Contract

As children of GOD, we can be confident that in Christ, we have assurance of our soul’s safe keeping. There is no peace found in a relationship where the one to whom we have entrusted our most valuable possession, that being our soul, is ready and willing to discard or cast it into the fires of hell each time we make a mistake. In Christ, we can be confident that our soul is secure. I may choose to walk away from Christ and in that case, I have made a decision to no longer entrust my soul to Him for safe keeping. However, there is a significant difference between making a mistake as a Christian and being one who stops following Christ. In Hebrews 7:22-25, the Hebrew writer tells us that, Jesus has become a surety or guarantee of a better covenant. (A stronger, more noble covenant…) A simple way of saying this is, Jesus is the guarantee of a better contract. Not that Jesus guarantees it, although He does, but Jesus IS the guarantee. He is better because unlike the priest who interceded for man under the previous contract, who died, and were prevented by death from continuing on in their work, Jesus continues forever as our High Priest. This contract is better because Jesus is able to save and protect in the most complete way possible, those who come to God through Him. Why and how is He able to do this? Because He always lives to make intercession for those who come to GOD through Him.
