Faith and Surrender: Following Mary’s Example – Luke 1:38

The message Mary received in Luke 1 that she would bear a Son although a virgin, required great faith. After asking how, and receiving a more detailed answer from the angel, Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38

I am certain that Mary still had many questions, but as the Lord’s servant, she submitted and surrendered herself to the word of the Lord. Mary did not allow her doubts and fears to be stronger than her faith and trust in God. She surrendered herself to be a vessel for the Lord according to His Word. Mary’s example of faith is an example to be followed. Let us all be determined to say as Mary did, “Let it be to me according to your word.”
