To be a follower of Jesus, we must not focus on fleshly preservation at the expense of spiritual preservation. Preservation is the activity or process of keeping something valued alive, intact, or free from damage or decay. There is nothing wrong with doing things to preserve this vessel, however, when it comes to making a choice between preserving the flesh or the spirit, to be a follower of Christ, we must choose the spirit.
