The Responsibility of Hearing and Keeping God’s Word | Luke 11:27-28, James 2:14-26

And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!” But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” Luke 11:27-28

Happy and well off is the one who not only hears the word, but likewise keeps it. We certainly have a responsibility regarding the things we hear from the word of God. We must be incredibly careful in our application and appreciation of God’s grace to not make light of obedience to His Word. 

The things we hear from the word of GOD are intended to produce faith. That faith should prompt us to act. 

“…faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” James 2:17
