“Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So, He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.” Matthew 8:14-15
How do we respond to the healing power of Jesus? In this context the healing was physical, Peter’s mother-in-law responded by rising up and serving. Spiritually, should our response be any different?
When I consider that Jesus, when reviled, “…did not revile in return; when He suffered, did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you (we) were healed.” 1st Peter 2:23-24 My response should likewise be to rise up and serve. Serve the one who healed me and minster to the needs of others.
