God’s Forgiveness and Our Response

Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins accordance with the riches of His grace.”

The cost of forgiveness was the sacrificial death of the unblemished Lamb of God, Jesus the Christ.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Rejecting this offer leaves no alternative for atonement. How then should we respond? After Philip shared the message of Jesus with the Eunuch, in Acts 8, as they came upon some water, the Eunuch asked, “What hinders me from being baptized?” Philip replied, “If you believe, you may…” The Eunuch then confirmed his belief that Jesus is the Son of God. Following his confession, both Philip and the Eunuch went down into the water, where Philip baptized him, and the Eunuch departed, rejoicing. Acts 8:35-40

The Eunuch listened to the preaching about Jesus, believed the truth concerning Jesus, confessed his belief in this truth, and was baptized for the forgiveness of his sins.

Be motivated by the love of Christ and what it cost Him to provide forgiveness for us. Respond as the Eunuch did in Acts 8 and go on your way rejoicing.
