The Value of an Excellent Wife

Proverbs 31:10 “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.”             

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband. A crown, in the literal sense, imparted a sense of honor. Often made of gold and decorated with precious jewels, it was something of great value and a symbol of honor for a king to wear. The crown was something he cherished, because of its great value. Scripture teaches us that an excellent wife is to be valued in the same way.               

A husband should treat his wife as a king does his crown; she is to be valued, and it should be an honor for him to have her. He should be considerate of her, mindful of her needs, wishes, and feelings. He should be thoughtful, kind, understanding, caring and respectful toward her.

She is that precious and she is to be treated as such.
