Reevaluation of our Motivation

Self-praise reveals a lack of humility. It can be challenging to feel overlooked or unacknowledged for a good deed. However, it is important to remember that God sees all. Likewise, the value of the act of kindness remains intact regardless of who receives the credit, as the recipient of the kind act still benefits. If our motivation for doing good is solely to gain recognition, then a reevaluation of our motivation must take place.

“Praise should come from another person and not from your own mouth, from a stranger and not from your own lips.”  Proverbs 27:2

Thomas Nelson said, “Praise is like a beautiful garment; while we may wish to wear it, it is far more fitting when others bestow it upon us.”
