2nd Timothy 2:11-13
“It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him, if we suffer, we shall also reign with him…”
That is wonderful news! If we remain faithful to our LORD, we have the assurance of eternal life because He is faithful. He is trustworthy and loyal to His promises. Yet His faithfulness becomes sad news for those who reject Him.
“…if we deny Him, He also will deny us: if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself. (2nd Timothy 2:11-13)
To remain faithful to His nature, God cannot save those who do not believe in Him. God’s faithfulness which guarantees the faithful Christian a life of reigning with Christ, also necessitates that He deny those who are unbelievers. If He were to accept the unfaithful, it would contradict the core of His nature.
GOD’S faithfulness does not require Him to save both believers and infidels; rather, it demands the opposite. “He cannot deny the nature of who He is…”
“…if we deny Him, He also will deny us: if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.”
GOD is always faithful. But, to truly benefit from this truth, we must practice faithfulness in our lives. It is not enough to simply say that we are faithful, we must actively demonstrate that belief through the way we live each day.
