Living by Motivation with Anticipation

1st John 2:28-3:3

John encourages children of GOD to abide in or remain in Christ. As children of God, we are promised the inheritance of eternal life. This truth should excite and motivate us to live lives of purity and holiness for the One who died for us. It is not about trying to work our way into heaven or earn something by remaining faithful. It is not about being perfect by our own merit but rather living by motivation with anticipation of Jesus’ return and the promise of being transformed into His likeness in the resurrection. This undoubtedly should have a purifying influence on the life of a child of GOD. By standing firm in the truth that Jesus is the Christ, we can stand before the Lord with confidence and without shame when He returns, fully assured of His promise of eternal life.
