Life can be challenging, disheartening and full of regret. In the past it was hard for me to accept that someone could deliberately hurt others with their words or actions. When we see this happen repeatedly, it can cause our circle of trust to shrink. Why hold on to anger, jealousy, and pride until the end? What is the purpose? What victory did we win? Was there ever truly a reason? Time is irredeemable; once it is gone, it is gone. The division that often exists in life is discouraging, especially when the reasons behind it often seem so trivial. There are times we must make tough decisions, distance ourselves from situations, and even sever toxic relationships. However, never be hasty in making these decisions. Be sure there is a genuine reason. We cannot control the choices of others in these times, but we are accountable for our own. Whatever decision you make, be sure you have done everything you can and that your intentions are sincere.
“Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34:13-14
