Prioritizing God: The Key to Spiritual Readiness

Change is essential if we are to be prepared to meet God. This is not just about stopping a specific sin; it is about completely changing who we are. It will be obvious if serving God is our top priority, evident in the choices we make.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying God’s creation or engaging in activities that aren’t sinful, but when we prioritize these things over serving God, these things separate us from Him. When we are separated from God, we are not prepared to meet Him.

Heaven is not a fleshly place for fleshly minded people; it’s an eternal dwelling prepared for those who walk not according to the flesh but in agreement with the spirit. Is my relationship with Christ most important to me over all else? Is my desire for heaven the greatest above all else? If I answered no to either of these questions, change is essential.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2
