The Importance of Receiving God’s True Messages

As messengers of GOD, the chief work of a prophet was to speak forth the mind and counsel of GOD. Often a prophet of GOD would foretell of a future event. Daniel for example, revealed and interpreted the dream of Nebuchadnezzar which certainly looked into the future at that time. Daniel was careful to give all the glory to GOD. “I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.” (Daniel 2:23) It was God who enabled Daniel, and the word’s that he spoke was the mind and counsel of GOD. True prophets of GOD were always speaking the Words of GOD. Whether foretelling a future event, pronouncing judgment or simply providing instruction, genuine prophets always spoke the Words of GOD. (1^st Peter 1:20-21) They were GOD’S spokesmen. It was vital for the people to hear and understand all messages from GOD as GOD would have them delivered. No message from GOD was ever irrelevant. Consider how harmful it would be to receive the wrong information. It is just as important for us that we hear GOD’S message as He intended. This will only be true when we are able to go to the inspired scriptures for confirmation.
