Scripture speaks of being a sojourner or pilgrim. Technically everyone is a pilgrim on this earth, whether we live that way or not is another matter. Regardless of how we feel about God, or what we believe about Him, no one will remain here forever. We can choose to dismiss GOD’S word, doubt His faithfulness and live as though this is all there is, or we can accept that the earth will one day cease to exist and turn to the cross and live lives of holiness. A child of GOD by faith should eagerly anticipate permanent housing. Abraham was waiting for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 11:10
“…these all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had the opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11:13-16
