Successful prayer has GOD’S will as its foundation, coupled with a willing heart of submission.
In Daniel 4, Nebuchadnezzar faced humbling consequences for his prideful actions, learning that GOD Most High rules in the kingdom of men. After his restoration notice what he acknowledges. “For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, “What have You done?” Daniel 4:34-35
Nebuchadnezzar recognized and accepted the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as Most High. He acknowledged His eternal nature, that His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and that His kingdom endures from generation to generation.
Understanding the supreme authority of GOD is a tremendous advantage to praying that His will be done.
We 1st surrender ourselves to His sovereignty and because this is who He is, this is by necessity true about His will. “He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, “What have You done?”
