Overcoming Struggles in Faith: Know God Better

Giving GOD control of our lives may be a struggle because we lack a relationship with Him. It is difficult to trust someone that you do not know. GOD certainly can be a stranger to us, but this is not necessarily what we are talking about. We may come to a lot of the assemblies, read our bibles at home, pray before our meals and before we go to sleep, and do some godly things yet not really have a relationship with Him. This becomes evident when we take other avenues to deal with difficulties and prioritize things of this world. Throughout the Old Testament we often find Israel failing to surrender to GOD because they did not have a working relationship with Him, therefore, they fell into idolatry and immorality. Do we find ourselves making these same choices? If so, our relationship with GOD may not be what we think it is. There must be a bond built by love that has developed a spirit of trust. What kind of effort are we making to know GOD? To know Him is to trust HIM.

“…those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:10

“For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” 2nd Timothy 1:12
